What is Coaching?

Coaching is a professional partnership between a coach and a client. My goal as a coach is to create a space that allows my clients to feel safe, connected, and heard. Through active listening and inquiry, I am able to gain a better understanding of my client’s perspective, experience, and their goals. This creates the foundation for supported growth, accountability, and goal accomplishment. The relationship is professional, respectful, and our work together is rooted in strength based, positive psychology.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO WORK WITH A COACH?

People choose to work with coaches for many reasons. Here are a few:

  • Having difficulty seeing the good within themselves

  • Wanting to improve confidence and self-esteem

  • Feeling stuck or uninspired

  • Having a longing to shift their path in life

  • Difficulty setting boundaries in relationships

What is Client Driven Coaching?

As the curator of your own life, you deserve the right to take the lead. You know yourself more intimately than anyone else and you ultimately know what is best for you. You will decide the focus of our sessions and I will support you in honing in on whatever direction you choose. You will grow through your own empowerment!

Is coaching the same as therapy?

While coaching and therapy are both incredibly beneficial practices, they differ in the way they serve clients.

The focus of coaching is to support an individual as they shift their experience from living in a state of “well enough” to living in a state of thriving. The work begins in the present, allowing the client to imagine and lean into an experience of living that makes them actually feel ALIVE. 

Therapists focus on a person’s lifespan, while exploring experiences of trauma and emotional challenges. Therapists have the ability to diagnose their client and provide specific strategies to support the person with managing their diagnosis while helping them learn to navigate through life’s challenges.

What is a coaching contract?

A coaching contract is an agreement between coach and client that sets boundaries and clear expectations around the coaching partnership. By signing a coaching agreement, you agree to the terms of the session.
