Begin Again

Though the path forward may come with uncertainty,

I take solace in knowing that there will be beauty spread along the way

As I journaled this morning I wrote…

So today, let’s begin again and then again and then again…

I wrote these words as I embark on a new chapter in my life. I am relocating from Hong Kong after living abroad for over three years and with this move comes a mix of emotions.

I feel eager for new opportunities as I embrace the symbolism of a fresh start. I feel relieved and excited to be near my loved ones back home.

Yet I also feel a sense of sadness and uncertainty as I distance myself from all that has become familiar and step away from the experiences I have lived. Hong Kong has become my home, my friends there have become family and a source of community when all the world around us was shut down or locked out during the past two years.

Transitions carry many layers of emotion.

As we move forward, we carry moments of time with us. A patchwork of glimpses into the lives we have lived woven together. Memories of time spent alongside our loved ones, of all that we have witnessed through our explorations, parts of ourselves forever influenced by the experiences we have lived through.

As I explore what it means to move forward from this chapter of my life, I needed to be reminded that it is ok to begin again. In fact, it is necessary.

We can use this idea of beginning again to help propel us forward in times when we feel stuck or overwhelmed. It is a reminder that we have the capability to keep going, to keep pushing forward. It is a declaration that we have all that we need within us to gather strength and courage to set forth into the unfamiliar. It is an act of grace as we give ourselves permission to try and try again.

As you face a new day, pause and breathe deeply.

Feel your strength rise within you as you simply remind yourself that at this moment, at any moment you can begin again…

You’ve got this,

Kristen
